Aron
Hill 2006 Sauvignon Blanc / Paso Robles
Chill this light blonde sauvignon blanc to serve mid day
during the hot but never lazy summer days to come. Crisp
and tart with hints of citrus, pear and acres of green
grapes and grass, this delicate and fragrant white will
pair easily with salads, asian food, cheeses and seafood.
Drinkable, drinkable, drinkable are the three important
words here, as the winemakerís love of wide open
spaces and free galloping horses converges into a single
bottle of romance ready to be broken open with favorite
staples seasoned with spices used the world over in Chinese,
Thai, Indian and even Mexican food dishes. We recommend
two chilled bottles and no switching. |
Duckhorn
Vineyards, Napa Valley, Sauvigon Blanc 2007
This Sauvigon Blanc is made of fruit from several individual
vineyard lots throughout the Napa Valley with various
microclimates. Blended together and combined with Semillon,
the fruit has produced a rich wine with a soothing, soft
acidity. From its translucent-gold hue, fresh aromas of
citrus fruits, peach, and orange blossoms invigorate the
senses. The first sip sends lush tropical fruit, lemon,
grapefruit, peach, and sweet spice drifting over the palate.
With a full, slightly creamy mouthfeel and great depth
of flavor, this is a wine well worth drinking. Enjoy it
on its own before dinner, or pair it with halibut in a
light Asian marinade. |
Mirassou,
1998 White Burgandy Monterey County Pinot Blanc,
The aromas delight the senses with a touch the tropics
where pineapple and banana mingle with wisps of clove.
Creamy pear flavor is elegantly followed by touches of
crisp green apple. This medium bodied wine is very versatile
with dishes such as proscuitto and melon salad or grilled
salmon fettucine with lemon cream sauce.

Scheid
Vineyards 2007 Sauvignon Blanc / Monterey County
For
the 2007 vintage, fruit was sourced grapes from their
Baja Viento and Mesa del Rio vineyards and then aged in
stainless steel. Out of its vibrant white-gold hue, notes
of bell pepper, bright citrus fruit, and grassy tones
envelope the senses. With a sip, the lively citrus returns,
alongside gooseberry and herbier accents. A very crisp
wine with a firm acidity, it would pair quite nicely with
shrimp cocktail or scallops in a light white-wine sauce.
672 cases were produced. |
St.
Clement, 1999 Sauvignon Blanc
This is a wine of subtle complexity allowing it to stand
out from other Sauvignon Blancs. Deep floral and fruit
emanate both in aroma and while in the mouth, allowing
this wine too effortlessly compliment rich shellfish such
as, Dungenous crab or barbecued oysters. From beginning
to end this refreshing wine exhibits a wealth of character
and flavor and is ideally balanced and ready to drink
now. (707)
